  1. Element 1 and 2: Expanding an organization’s existing security framework to include AI threats.

  3. Element 4: Focusing on the security benefits of uniformity in AI-related control frameworks.
  4. Element 5 and 6: Constantly inspecting, evaluating, and battle-testing AI applications to ensure they can withstand attacks and do not expose the organization to unnecessary risks.

One such concern is the risk of “prompt injections,” which is a form of AI exploitation that involves hiding malicious commands within blocks of text and triggering them when the AI scans the content.

Prompt injections can be compared to hiding a sinister mind-control spell within the text on a teleprompter. When the AI scans the text containing the prompt injection, it alters the command given to the AI, potentially causing unintended consequences or harmful actions.

  • “Stealing the model,” a technique that involves tricking a translation model into revealing its secrets.
